Making the case to attend

You may need to convince your managers that paying to attend the ANZREG Annual Conference is a good investment, both for you and your institution. Here are some key benefits of attending, which will help you make your case:

  • Networking with other Ex Libris users in the ANZREG community is a great way to gain fresh ideas and learn about the cutting edge uses that others have developed for their Ex Libris products. The ANZREG user community can be a great resource. You will gather some great contacts and strengthen existing relationships.
  • The ANZREG Conference is attended by participants from across Australia and New Zealand. Participants have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with speakers and other delegates.
  • The knowledge and information gained from the conference is a great investment for your institution. You might consider offering a short presentation for your colleagues after the conference, using your notes and presentation slides on the ANZREG website to further share the knowledge that you gained.
  • The conference is focused on Ex Libris products and related current professional issues. The interactive discussions hosted during the Best Practice and Developers days foster the community’s ability to design and share best practice ways to work with Ex Libris applications.
  • The ANZREG Conference has been the starting point for customer initiatives that have influenced or escalated the development of high priority system functionality in Alma and Primo, such as the establishment of the Alma COUNTER metrics early adopters working group.
  • It is likely that attendees and presenters from other institutions are working on similar Ex Libris application management issues as your institution. Attending ANZREG offers the opportunity to speak personally with professionals at other sites to help brainstorm solutions, develop new strategies, and share your own experiences. It is the collective wisdom of Alma-L, Leganto-L and Primo-L lists, all in one place! You might even solve your problem over morning tea.
