ANZREG Conference 2018 Survey – We asked, you spoke, we’re listening
Hello ANZREG community!
We asked what you thought about ANZREG
2018, and you told us.
“What I want to get out of ANZREG [conference] is to
find out what other libraries are doing and be able to network with other libraries facing the same issues as me.”
Overall, your responses tell us that
you value sessions that give insight into how other institutions are working with Ex Libris products. You’re interested in hands-on sessions, led by libraries who are implementing new features or re-designing old ones.
Some more highlights
- >75% of attendees rated the conference as good or excellent
- The most popular sessions were future-focussed
- The least popular were the housekeeping reports from ANZREG Committee, IGELU update and the working groups
- Live streaming and recording sessions is highly valued for those who can’t attend in person, as is keeping to the schedule
- Networking is key, with suggestions such as break-out sessions, time for post-presentation discussions, workshops to formulate back-end solutions, and a first-timer event
- The Ex Libris training days had mixed feedback, with many indicating that it was overall a positive experience but would be better with a more practical configuration focus
- It’s not wise to assume all attendees have Eduroam access!
What we’re planning for 2019
- More practical and future-focused topics – we need your help here with your proposal submissions
- Shaking up scheduling to refocus on networking opportunities and breakouts
- Reduce time devoted to IGeLU, Working Group, and ANZREG updates, and maybe just share these on the ANZREG site instead
- Better cover the needs of both in-person and remote attendees
And, yes, we will definitely include
institutions on name tags!
We’ll be sharing more suggestions and reminders with you as we continue preparing for next year, and encourage you to think about what you could present in 2019.
